These ladies love Barbara — Cook, that is. Lily Tomlin (The Search for Intelligent Life in the Universe), Paula Laurence (the original One Touch of Venus, Something for the Boys) and Dana Ivey (Major Barbara, Waiting in the Wings) joined the New Dramatists in honoring the singing star with a Lifetime Achievement Award May 14.

Cook is remembered by fans of classic musical theatre for creating roles in Flahooley, Plain and Fancy, Candide, The Music Man and She Loves Me. Today, she performs in cabarets and concerts around the United States. Her Mostly Sondheim will return to Lincoln Center in July, then continue on to various U.S. cities.
