Tony Award-winning actress Patti LuPone made her New York City Ballet debut May 11 in Kurt Weill's The Seven Deadly Sins — under the direction of Tony nominee Lynne Taylor-Corbett — at the David Koch Theater.

Weill composed the ballet that has a libretto by Bertolt Brecht and was originally choreographed by George Balanchine.

A morality play, Seven Deadly Sins tells the story of Anna, who is played by both a singer (LuPone) and a dancer (Wendy Whelan). The production is the first part of an evening that also includes the Vienna Waltzes. Performances are 3 PM and 8 PM May 12, 8 PM May 13, 2 PM and 8 PM May 14 and 3 PM May 15.

Paul Gemignani conducts the production, which features English translation by W.H. Auden and Chester Kallman.

The cast also includes Raymond Jarmillo McLeod, Eric Michael Gillett, Kevin Early, Andrew Stenson, Sara Mearns, Craig Hall, Marika Anderson, Lauren King, Ashley Laracey, Lauren Lovette, Georgina Pazcoguin, Mary Elizabeth Sell, Sarah Villwock, Lydia Wellington, Chase Finlay, Sam Greenberg, Vincent Paradiso, Justin Peck, Allen Peiffer, Andrew Scordato, Taylor Stanley, Joshua Thew and Giovanni Villalobos.
