The event was the first in The Composer's Voice, a series of master classes presented by the American Lyric Theatre. It came two weeks before the New York premiere of Lysistrata at New York City Opera on March 21.
Among the singers participating were several of the stars of NYCO's production, including soprano Emily Pulley (Lysia), tenor Chad Shelton (Nico), mezzo-soprano Jennifer Roderer (Sappho), and mezzo-soprano Jennifer Rivera (Myrrhine), as well as mezzo-soprano Cherry Duke, Broadway's Aaron Lazar (A Light in the Piazza), and soprano Lauren Molina.
