Classic Arts News Photo Journal: The Forsythe Company at BAM Choreographer William Forsythe's new company made its first appearance in the United States last night, performing Kammer/Kammer at the Brooklyn Academy of Music.
Forsythe created The Forsythe Company in 2005, after the city of Frankfurt withdrew its funding for Ballett Frankfurt, the acclaimed ensemble that he had directed since 1984.

Kammer/Kammer, a work first created for Ballett Frankfurt, tells two parallel love stories, making use of live and recorded video by Philip BuêÈmann and moving walls that frequently obscure the dancers. It is based on the writing of Douglas A. Martin and Anne Carson.

The BAM engagement runs through May 6 at the Howard Gilman Opera House.
