The evening’s entertainment was directed by Kurt Stamm, with music direction by Andrew Gerle. Special guests included Len Cariou, James Earl Jones, Alan Menken, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Brad Oscar, Tom Rhoads and Karen Ziemba.

In an earlier statement, York producing artistic director James Morgan, said, "We are delighted to be able to honor Ms. Lansbury. We have tried for a number of years to make this event happen, and this time, the stars—and this star—aligned, and we are over the moon. She is the personification of lifetime achievement in musical theatre, and the ceremony will be a celebration of her 90th birthday."

The production will include Bernstein’s incidental music for Lillian Hellman’s adaptation of The Lark, and Menotti’s The Unicorn, The Gorgon, and The Manticore.
