News Pittsburgh Public Plans Ella, Little Foxes, The Chief, Time of My Life in 2009-10 Shakespeare, Lillian Hellman and Alan Ayckbourn are among playwrights represented in Pittsburgh Public Theater's 2009-10 season producing artistic director Ted Pappas announced.

The six-play subscription season includes the Ella Fitzgerald musical biography Ella Oct. 1-Nov. 1; Helena Ruoti as Regina in Hellman's tale of Southern greed, The Little Foxes, directed by Ted Pappas, Nov. 12-Dec. 13; a Pappas-directed production of A Midsummer Night's Dream Jan. 21-Feb. 21, 2010; Lanford Wilson's two-character love story Talley's Folly March 4-April 4, 2010; Alan Ayckbourn's restaurant-set comedy (set in three time periods, on one stage) Time of My Life April 15-May 16, 2010; and a Season Finale show to be announced May 27-June 27, 2010. Special engagements include The Second City 50th Anniversary Tour Dec. 17-19; six farewell performances of the local hit The Chief, about Pittsburgh Steelers founder Art Rooney, by Rob Zellers & Gene Collier starring Tom Atkins, Jan. 6-10, 2010.
