Hosted by late former Playbill editor Leo Lerman, the Spelvin Luncheon allowed members of the theatre industry and surrounding disciplines to get together with actors, writers, directors, designers and other creatives and break bread, indulge in a glass of wine (or three), and share liberally their candid and honest views on art in an open air forum free from the prying eyes of the press or nosey marketers.
Playbill is bringing back the tradition with The Spelvin Society, which will offer theatregoers a night out on the town and include dinner at a local restaurant prior to the show, a post-performance talkback and a nightcap to follow.
To reserve a spot with The Spelvin Society, call (844) 773-5846. The cost for the March 13 evening, including a ticket to the new musical, dinner and the post-performance discussion and nightcap, is $200.
If/Then, the new Broadway musical from Next to Normal writers Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey, stars Tony winner Idina Menzel.
According to the creators, "If/Then is an original musical set at the intersection of choice and chance, where the road you take meets the road you didn't. Tony Award winner Menzel makes her much-anticipated return to the stage in this contemporary new musical as Elizabeth, a woman rebuilding her life in New York, a city of infinite possibilities."
