An audience member at the April 25 evening performance of the critically acclaimed revival of The Gershwins' Porgy and Bess caught the attention of leading lady Audra McDonald, who tweeted, "Dear audience member crinkling ur bag of chips like it was a musical instrument...if I can get through the 1st act w/out chips, so can you."

The four-time Tony winner later tweeted, "Forgive the bad grammar in my angry stop crinkling ur chips tweet & Mr/Ms audience member? Enjoy ur chips all u want now. It's intermission."

McDonald can be followed on Twitter at @AudraEqualityMc. The singing actress bills herself on Twitter as "mother, equal rights fan, obsessed with anything that has chocolate and peanut butter."
