Bianca Marroquin, who has appeared on Broadway in Chicago, is cast as the titular umbrella-toting nanny in Mary Poppins, which will begin performances Nov. 12 at the Telmex Cultural Center, in Mexico City. OCESA produces the first-ever Spanish-language staging of the musical based on the beloved film. The musical has music and lyrics by Richard M. Sherman and Robert B. The Lion King, the international hit shaped by Tony-winning director Julie Taymor, will open in São Paulo, Brazil on March 7, 2013, at the Teatro Abril. It will be the largest musical produced in Brazil and marks the first time the musical has been performed in Portuguese. T4F (Time For Fun) produces the Brazilian engagement.
