News Powers to Star in Hall-Directed Windermere and King and I Tour Stefanie Powers ("Hart to Hart") will take to the stage in two upcoming classics: a Sir Peter Hall-directed Australian production of Oscar Wilde's Lady Windermere's Fan followed by a stint as Anna in a tour of Rodgers and Hammerstein's The King and I, according to the actress' publicist.

Though best known for her turn on the television drama "Hart to Hart" opposite Robert Wagner, Powers has appeared on stage in musical productions of Oliver, Annie Get Your Gun, My Fair Lady and Applause. In London's West End, she reteamed with Wagner in Love Letters and recently toured the UK in a production of The King and I. Penned in 1892, Windermere was Wilde's first major success, to be followed up by The Importance of Being Earnest and An Ideal Husband. Hall previously staged the work at London's Theatre Royal, Haymarket in 2002 starring Vanessa Redgrave and Joely Richardson. No dates for the Australian staging have been set yet.

A U.S. national tour of the 1952 Tony Award-winning Best Musical The King and I starring Powers will kick off in January of 2005. Details for the new staging are currently in the works.
