News Press Nights Postponed as Albee Revises Me, Myself & I Press nights — the performances where theatre critics are invited to review a show — have been postponed a week for Edward Albee's new play, Me, Myself & I, which is currently in previews at New Jersey's McCarter Theatre.

A spokesperson for the McCarter told Playbill.com that although the official opening night at the Berlind Theatre remains Jan. 18, "We have just postponed critics by a week in order for Mr. Albee to make revisions to the script."

McCarter's artistic director, Emily Mann, directs the world-premiere production, which began performances Jan. 15 and boasts Tony Award winner Tyne Daly as Mother, Brian Murray as Dr., Charlotte Parry as Maureen and Stephen Payne as The Man. Colin Donnell and Michael Esper play the identical twins, who are both named Otto.

The production — which runs through Feb. 17 — features set design by Thomas Lynch, costume design by Jennifer von Mayrhauser, lighting design by Kenneth Posner and soundscape by Darron L. West.

Me, Myself and I, according to press notes, is described as such: "When a pair of identical twin brothers are both named Otto, how's a mother supposed to keep them straight? Master playwright Edward Albee is in top form with this dark, funny and moving play that takes sibling rivalry to existential heights."

Edward Albee won Best Play Tony Awards for Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? and The Goat or Who Is Sylvia? He was also Tony nominated for The Ballad of the Sad Café, Tiny Alice, A Delicate Balance and Seascape. Albee is also the recipient of three Pulitzer Prizes, the Gold Medal in Drama from the American Academy and Institute of Arts and Letters, the Kennedy Center Honors and the National Medal of Arts. Four major Edward Albee productions will be seen during the 2007-08 season, during which the playwright will turn 80 (on March 12). The season has been dubbed "The Albee Season" and includes Peter and Jerry at Second Stage; Me, Myself and I at the McCarter Theatre; The Sandbox and The American Dream at the Cherry Lane Theatre; and Occupant at the Signature Theatre Company.

The McCarter Theatre is located at 91 University Place in Princeton, NJ. Tickets are available by calling (609) 258-2787 or by visiting www.mccarter.org.
