News Public's King Lear — with Kevin Kline — Will Begin Previews in February 2007 The Public Theater has announced that its production of King Lear starring Kevin Kline will begin previews Feb. 9, 2007. Tickets go on sale Dec. 17.

James Lapine directs the Shakespeare play, which will go up in the Public's Anspacher Theater. An official opening night and closing night for the limited run have not yet been announced.

Also previously announced for this season at the Public is Passing Strange, a musical with book and lyrics by Stew and music by Stew and Heidi Rodewald. The musical is directed and created in collaboration with Annie Dorsen. It's currently at Berkeley Repertory Theatre and is scheduled to begin previews at the Public in January.

Craig Lucas' play Singing Forest, directed by Lucas' The Light in the Piazza collaborator Bartlett Sher, will begin previews at the Public in March.

Julia Cho's play Durango opens at the Public Nov. 20. The plays Wrecks and Emergence-See! closed Nov. 19.
