News Queen Bea—A Tribute To Beatrice Arthur Plays the Metropolitan Room Aug. 29 Singer Carla Gordon salutes the late Bea Arthur — star of "The Golden Girls," "Maude" and Broadway's Mame and Fiddler on the Roof — in her Aug. 29 cabaret act.

Queen Bea—A Tribute To Beatrice Arthur will be presented at the Metropolitan Room in Manhattan at 4 PM. Gordon will be accompanied by musical director Beckie Menzie.

Gordon, who was was a guest of Arthur's director at the Bea Arthur Memorial Celebration hosted by Angela Lansbury, said in a previous statement, "I learned so much that day about why everyone loved Bea. . . . Not only was she a remarkably talented woman, she was also a remarkable citizen, raising many thousands of dollars for homeless gay youth and for PETA and other animal rights organizations. And she was funny as anything. It is such an honor to be saluting this Queen Bea!"

There is a $20 cover charge for the performance. The Metropolitan Room is located in Manhattan at 34 West 22nd Street. For reservations call (212) 206-0440
