The Vineyard Theatre's July 9 presentation of Fully Committed suffered the boon of all plays-in-the-park — pouring rain. The one-man show, featuring the original star Mark Setlock, has rescheduled its free performance at Madison Square Park for July 10.
Starting out as Sam, the stressed out-of-work actor-cum-reservations clerk at the city's hottest four-star restaurant, Setlock portrays not only the eatery's staff but a series of outrageous guests clamoring for a table in Fully Committed. These patrons run the gamut from killer Mafiosi and rich old ladies to supermodels and Wall Street tycoons.
The roles were originally written for Setlock by playwright Becky Mode who created the part at the Vineyard and traveled with it to Boston and Los Angeles. Tony winner Roger Bart, Christopher Fitzgerald, Brian Beacock and Bronson Pinchot were among the actors to have a go at Fully Committed after Setlock.
Fully Committed begins at 6:30 PM. Madison Square Park is located on Fifth Avenue and Madison between 23rd and 26th Streets.
