The Roundabout Theatre Company production of If I Forget, the newest play from Dear Evan Hansen book writer Steven Levenson, officially opened Off-Broadway February 22. The new play explores the lasting impact of the Holocaust on a Jewish family at the beginning of the 21st century.
Tony winner Daniel Sullivan directs a cast that includes Orange is the New Black actor Maria Dizzia, Grey's Anatomy's Kate Walsh, and Noises Off's Jeremy Shamos. The production began previews February 2 and is scheduled to play through April 30.

Performances of If I Forget take place at the Laura Pels Theatre at the Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre. The Off-Broadway engagement is scheduled to play through April 30. The cast also includes Larry Bryggman (Picnic), Tasha Lawrence (Good People), Seth Steinberg, and Gary Wilmes (Irrational Man).
“In the final months before 9/11, liberal Jewish studies professor Michael Fischer has reunited with his two sisters to celebrate their father's 75th birthday. Each deeply invested in their own version of family history, the siblings clash over everything from Michael’s controversial scholarly work to the mounting pressures of caring for an ailing parent,” read production notes. “As destructive secrets and long-held resentments bubble to the surface, the three negotiate—with biting humor and razor-sharp insight—how much of the past they’re willing to sacrifice for a chance at a new beginning. If I Forget tells a powerful tale of a family and a culture at odds with itself.”
