The York Theatre Company's Developmental Reading Series will continue Feb. 22 with a free reading of the new musical Socks.

Directed by Heidi Ford, the 3 PM reading will feature the talents of Kathleen Elizabeth Monteleone ("Grease: You’re The One That I Want"), Peter Gregus (Jersey Boys), Adam Shorsten ("Grease: You’re The One That I Want"), Joan Barber (Follies), Manoly Farrell, Jeremiah James, Shobhit Agarwal, Jeffrey W. Holmes and Ben Liebert (Wicked).

Socks features book, music and lyrics by Sharon Barnett and Michael McFrederick.

The musical, according to press notes, "answers the age old question of 'What happens to socks after they disappear from the dryer?' Travel along with 'material girl' Cassie Cashmere Sock, as she tumbles from the dryer into the dirty, lint filled world of Sockland. Battling to escape and reunite with her match, she discovers her inner fabric and the true meaning of freedom."

The reading will be presented at the York's home at The Theatre at Saint Peter's on 54th Street, east of Lexington Avenue. Although the reading is free, reservations are required by calling (212) 935-5824, ext. 24.
