Private industry presentations of Joanna Murray-Smith's Chance Encounters, which was acclaimed in its Australian debut, will be presented March 15-16 at New World Stages.

Directed by Simon Phillips, the play features Australian actress Bernadette Robinson.

In Chance Encounters Robinson, according to production notes, "transforms into an astonishing array of iconic singers as she plays the role of five anonymous women who each tell the tale of how their lives were changed when their paths crossed with Judy Garland, Patsy Cline, Billie Holiday, Edith Piaf and Maria Callas."

Chance Encounters has enjoyed sold-out engagements in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne.

Producers hope to bring the work to Broadway next season.
