Scott Ellis (Curtains) directs the Williamstown production that stars Kristen Johnston (The Women, "3rd Rock from the Sun"), Reg Rogers (The Pain and the Itch) and Bradley Cooper ("Alias," "Wedding Crashers"). Running on the Nikos Stage through Aug. 3, The Understudy takes place backstage during the Broadway run of a long-lost Kafka play where "the understudy is more than he's supposed to be, the star wants to be more than he is, and the stage manager just can't take any more," according to press notes.

Designing the production are Alexander Dodge (set design), Tom Broecker (costume design), Ken Posner (lighting design) and Obadiah Eaves (sound design).

Tickets are available by logging on to wtfestival.org or by calling (413) 597-3400.
