News Red Hot Broadway Comes to the Acorn Theatre with B.J. Crosby Tony Award nominee B.J. Crosby — of Smokey Joe's Cafe fame — will be part of the cast of Red Hot Broadway, which begins performances Oct. 7.

The limited engagement of the show, subtitled A Sensual Broadway Music Concert, will play Theatre Row's Acorn Theatre through Nov. 8. Stepp Stewart, one of Deborah Gibson's original back-up dancers in 1986, is the concert's choreographer and producer. Jokes Stewart, "If you can stand the heat, get in line to see this show!" Joining Crosby onstage will be The Goodbye Girl's Sean Grant, Aida's Kyra Little DaCosta and Starlight Express' Lola Knox. Theatregoers can expect to hear such tunes as "You Gotta Get a Gimmick," "All That Jazz," "Sweet Georgia Brown," "Naughty Baby" and "Chicago Illinois."

B.J. Crosby recently portrayed Matron “Mama” Morton in the hit Broadway revival of Chicago. She also starred on Broadway in the revival of One Mo' Time, and she earned a Tony nomination for her work in the long-running revue Smokey Joe's Cafe. Crosby’s other theatrical credits include roles in “Dreamgirls” and George C. Wolfe’s “Harlem Song.”

The Acorn Theatre is located in Manhattan at 410 West 42nd Street. Tickets, priced at $50, are available by calling (212) 947-8844.
