News Report: The Producers to Bow at London's Drury Lane in Fall 2004 The Producers will get its London premiere at the Theater Royal, Drury Lane, Variety reported, but will not feature the talents of original Bialystock and Bloom Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick.

It has been long expected that Lane and Broderick would reprise their roles once the show arrived in London. Recently, however, the pair made it clear that they would recreate their roles on Broadway, not in London; the duo are all but signed to return to the St. James Theatre in New York City for a three-month stint beginning Dec. 31.

David Ian, CEO of Clear Channel Theatrical in Europe, and one of the producers of the London production, told Variety that the West End show would likely be cast with British stars. Among the names being entertained are Robert Lindsay, of Me and My Girl fame, and Lee Evans.

The Producers' debut in London will come more than three years after the musical took New York by storm, becoming the hottest ticket in memory and netting a record number of Tony Awards.
