News Restored "Grease" Film Will Get Free NYC Al-Fresco Screening There will be some free "Summer Lovin'" in New York City. A newly restored print of the 1978 screen adaptation of the popular 1950's musical spoof "Grease" will be presented June 30.

Paramount Pictures has restored the original film that will first premiere in a Manhattan sneak preview prior to a nationwide release this summer. The free screening, which is billed as a sing-along, will take place at 8:30 PM at Pier I, located on West 70th St. and the Hudson River. The film featured John Travolta, Olivia Newton-John and Stockard Channing. "Grease" holds the record as the highest-grossing movie musical. The film includes the pop songs "Hopelessly Devoted to You," "You're the One that I Want" and the title song. Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey penned the original Broadway musical.

The summer screening series will also include "Neverending Story" (July 7); "Pan's Labyrinth" (July 14); "Inkheart" (July 21); "The Fall" (July 28); "Big Fish" (Aug. 4) and "Stranger Than Fiction" (Aug. 11).
