The hills (and valleys) of Los Angeles are alive with The Sound of Music, so there's no better time to honor the show's touring star, Richard Chamberlain, with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Chamberlain, currently starring as Captain Von Trapp in the touring revival of the Rogers and Hammerstein show, gets his star Feb. 29 at 11:30 AM. The location will be 7018 Hollywood Boulevard near Orange.
A two-time Golden Globe award-winner for his performances in the TV series "Shogun" and "The Thornbirds," Chamberlain's most recent Broadway credits include Noel Coward's Blithe Spirit and the 1993-94 My Fair Lady, which also toured the U.S.
The Sound of Music will run at the Pantages Theatre Feb. 29-March 5. Meg Tolin (My Fair Lady) co-stars as Maria Rainer. For tickets, call (213) 365-3500.
