Lisa Peterson directs a cast that features Kind (Bounce) and Rogers (The Royal Family) as well as Chris Bauer ("True Blood"), Darrell Hammond ("Saturday Night Live"), Matt McGrath (Cabaret) and Joey Slotnik (Offices). Performances run through Sept. 5. According to Bay Street, "Romance is a roller coaster ride in which no one is left unscathed. Chiropractors, Lawyers, Christians, Jews, Gays, Minorities, Shakespeare and even World Peace are skewered as only Mamet can."
The production is designed by Alexander Dodge (set design), Jeff Croiter (lighting design), David C. Woolard (costume design), Jill BC Du Boff (sound design), Kathy Fabian (prop design) and Rick Sordelet (fight direction).
Mamet, the winner of the Pulitzer Prize and New York Drama Critics Circle Award for Glengarry Glen Ross, has also written Sexual Perversity in Chicago, Lakeboat, The Water Engine, The Duck Variations, Reunion, The Blue Hour, The Shawl, Bobby Gould in Hell, Edmond, Romance, November, The Old Neighborhood and the recent adaptation of The Voysey Inheritance, among other plays. His drama Race can currently be seen on Broadway, while his two-actor play A Life in the Theatre will receive its Broadway premiere this fall.
