News Rigby Flies Again As Peter Pan, Jan. 26-Feb. 20, At San Francisco's Orpheum Olympic gymnast and Tony Award nominee Cathy Rigby reprises her starring role in Peter Pan for the Best of Broadway 2000 subscription series at San Francisco's Orpheum and Curran Theatres. Olympic gymnast and Tony Award nominee Cathy Rigby reprises her starring role in Peter Pan for the Best of Broadway 2000 subscription series at San Francisco's Orpheum and Curran Theatres. Produced by Carole Shorenstein Hays and the Nederlanders, Peter Pan previewed Jan. 25. The show opens Jan. 26 and is scheduled to run through Feb. 20.

In addition to Rigby as Peter Pan, Paul Schoeffler will be featured as Captain Hook. Other highlights include the Stomp-style performances by the "Ugg-A-Wugg" dancers as well as Hook's pirates.

The recent Broadway revival of Peter Pan starring Rigby was nominated for a Tony Award. The show opened at the Marquis Theatre in 1998 and had an extended run at the Gershwin Theatre in 1999. In San Francisco, production sources said, there will be a new production staged by Glenn Casale, with choreographer Patti Columbo. Peter Pan will be flown over the audience and will be able to touch the upraised hands of audience members according to a paper statement from producers.

Although exact dates are still pending on the remaining shows in the Best of Broadway 2000 subscription series, production sources tell Playbill On-Line that Fosse will run at the Orpheum Theatre in April, Wit will run at the Curran Theatre in May, Disney's Beauty and the Beast will run at the Orpheum Theatre in June, Titanic will run at the Orpheum in July and Ragtime will run at the Orpheum in September.
