Rigger Harry Donovan and Jay O. Glerum, author of "Stage Rigging Handbook," will host a series of rigging seminars this winter and spring emphasizing hands-on practical advice and safety procedures for professional backstage workers. Seminars are planned for Feb. 26-28 in Anaheim, CA; March 25-27 in Atlanta; June 3-5 and June 6-9 in Chicago. Three-day seminars will focus on "Principles and Operations" and will cost $650 per person. Four-day seminars on "Personal Safety and Practical Applications" will cost $900 per person. Discounts are offered for institutions sending two or more people.
Seminars focus on Stage Rigging Systems, OSHA Regulations on Rigging Equipment and Personal Safety; Arena and Concert Rigging Principles and Techniques, Characteristics of Rigging Materials, Chain Hoist Control Systems, Inspection Procedures, and a dozen more subjects.
