The Focus Features film is based on Nick Flynn's memoir "Another Bulls*it Night in Suck City."  De Niro and Dano's characters will be estranged, with the son (played by Dano) working at a Boston homeless shelter. Moore will play Dano's mother, who is seen in flashbacks, with Thirlby cast as his love interest. An Academy Award winner for "Raging Bull" and "The Godfather Part II," De Niro also won a Theatre World Award for his Broadway debut in Cuba and His Teddy Bear. Dano ("There Will Be Blood," "Little Miss Sunshine") has appeared on Broadway in A Free Man of Color and Inherit the Wind.

Moore, an Oscar nominee for her work in "Far from Heaven," "The Hours," "The End of the Affair" and "Boogie Nights," appeared on Broadway in The Vertical Hour. Freckleface Strawberry, a musical adaptation of her children's book, is currently running at New World Stages.

Thirlby ("Bored to Death," "Juno") appeared in Farragut North at the Atlantic Theater Company in New York and at the Geffen Playhouse in Los Angeles.
