News Rock of Ages Cast Launches Online Web Series Cast members of Broadway's Rock of Ages have created a new "mocumentary" web series that offers a backstage look at the 1980's rock-fueled musical.

Created by cast members Mitch Jarvis (Fiddler on the Roof) and Lauren Molina (Sweeney Todd), the series — entitled "ROA Productions" — comprises improvised scenes that capture company members portraying exaggerated versions of their own personalities as they go about the daily life of performing your not-so-typical Broadway show.

According to press notes, "Real events are twisted with fiction. It's a show within a show, with mullets and strippers."

The series, which captures the cast and crew of Rock of Ages Off-Broadway (including original cast member Will Swenson, now in Hair) and on Broadway, is available by visiting RockofAgesProd.

After premiering Off-Broadway in 2008, Rock of Ages officially opens on Broadway April 7. "American Idol" finalist Constantine Maroulis (The Wedding Singer) leads a cast that features Amy Spanger (The Wedding Singer; Kiss Me, Kate) and James Carpinello (Saturday Night Fever, VH1's "So NoTORIous") as Stacee Jaxx.

The company also features Adam Dannheisser (The Coast of Utopia, Twelfth Night), Mitchell Jarvis (Fiddler on the Roof), Michele Mais (Roza), Lauren Molina (Sweeney Todd), Paul Schoeffler (Sweet Charity, Nine), Wesley Taylor (See Rock City), Ericka Hunter (Flower Drum Song, 42nd Street), Jeremy Jordan (Little Dog Laughed tour), Michael Minarik (Les Miserables), Angel Reed (Saturday Night Fever tour), Bahiyah Sayyed-Gaines (Pal Joey, The Color Purple), Katherine Tokarz (White Christmas, A Chorus Line), Andre Ward (Xanadu, The Producers), Savannah Wise (Les Miserables), Tad Wilson (The Full Monty) and Jeremy Woodard (Glory Days). "In 1987 on the Sunset Strip," Rock of Ages press notes state, "a small town girl met a big city rocker and in L.A.'s most famous rock club, they fell in love to the greatest songs of the '80s. . . . [The musical is] an arena-rock love story told through the mind-blowing, face-melting hits of Journey, Bon Jovi, Styx, Reo Speedwagon, Pat Benatar, Foreigner, Twisted Sister, Poison, Asia, Whitesnake and many more."

Rock of Ages plays the Brooks Atkinson Theatre, located at 256 West 47th Street. For tickets and further information, visit RockofAges.
