Barcelona's Mercat de la Flors theater premieres May 14, the original Italian version of De repente esta noche (This Sudden Night) by the Italian author Luigi Pirandello. The play is directed by Luca Ronconi, recent winner of the European Theater Award and director of Roma's Theater, who premiered this play in Lisbon's Expo '98 a few weeks ago.
The play is part of the trilogy "Theater Inside the Theater" which also includes the plays Six Characters in Search of an Author and Everyone at His Own Way.
De repente talks about the bad relations which exist between a theater director and members of his company. To perform the play, Grondoni has chosen Italian actors which belong to his Roman Schools of Interpretation.
