News Rosie O'Donnell Returns to Broadway, This Time as an Actress Every time Rosie O'Donnell visits Broadway, it's in a new guise. She first appeared as a supporting actress in the musical revival of Grease! Then, for a couple years, she was the host of the Tony Awards. Most recently, she became a producer, bringing Taboo to Times Square.

In her latest incarnation, she will be a dramatic actress. O'Donnell will co-star with Danny Aiello in the new Alexander Dinelaris play Folding the Monster, due on Broadway in fall 2005. Exact dates and information about the creative team couldn't be learned at press time. Aside from Grease! and Seussical (the latter for which she briefly played the Cat in the Hat), O'Donnell's acting experience includes "Sleepless in Seattle," "A League of Their Own" and "The Flintstones." She was also for many years the hostess of her own talk show. In a May 1 Hallmark Hall of Fame TV movie, "Riding the Bus With My Sister," based on the bestselling book, she plays a developmentally disabled sister to a character played by Andie MacDowell.

Aiello is well known for his supporting work in such films as "Do the Right Thing," "Moonstruck," "City Hall," "The Purple Rose of Cairo," "Radio Days," "Ruby" and "2 Days in the Valley." He has acted on the New York stage in the original Gemini and the recent Adult Entertainment. Recently, he made his cabaret debut at Feinstein's at the Regency.
