Roundabout Theatre Company has announced the cast for its New York premiere of Martin McDonagh’s A Skull In Connemara, which starts previews at the Gramercy Theatre on Jan. 30. The show opens Feb. 22.

Directed by Gordon Edelstein, Roundabout’s staging of A Skull In Connemara completes the presentation of the “Leenane trilogy” of plays in New York—The Beauty Queen of Leenane (1996) and The Lonesome West (1999). A Skull in Connemara premiered in Galway, Ireland in 1997 before moving to London’s Royal Court Theatre. Its American premiere took place at Seattle’s A Contemporary Theatre (ACT) with direction by Gordon Edelstein.

McDonagh’s play, which is described in production notes as the “sometimes bizarre, funny and terrifying tales of life in this remote part of Ireland” stars Kevin Tighe as Mick Dowd, Zoaunne LeRoy as Maryjohnny Rafferty, Christopher Carley as Mairtin Hanlon and Christopher Evan Welch as Thomas Hanlon.

The creative team for A Skull in Connemara comprises set designer David Gallo, costume designer Susan Hilferty and lighting designer Michael Chybowski.
