The Stratford season will begin performances June 14, prior to an official opening June 21 for a run through July 12, then transfer to London's Royal Court, where it will play July 15-17.
The festival is inspired by the original ethos and spirit of The Other Place under the leadership of Buzz Goodbody. The plays are presented in rep in two programs. Program A comprises Timberlake Wertenbaker's The Ant and the Cicada and Alice Birch's Revolt. She said. Revolt again, under the direction of Erica Whyman. Program B comprises E.V Crowe's I can hear you and Abi Zakarian's This is not an exit, under the direction of Jo McInnes.
The productions will be cross cast and will include Robert Boulter, John Bowe, Scarlett Brookes, Ruth Gemmell, Julie Legrand and Mimi Mdiweni.
Throughout the festival in Stratford-upon-Avon, there will be a free exhibition in the foyer of The Courtyard Theatre commemorating the 40th anniversary of the opening of The Other Place (which originally occupied the same site as the Courtyard).
