News Russell Grant to Appear in West End's Midnight Tango Russell Grant, who appeared in the title role of The Wizard Of Oz at the West End's London Palladium, is to be reunited with Flavia Cacace, his dancing partner in TV's "Strictly Come Dancing," for the West End run of Midnight Tango.

It begins performances Jan. 30, 2012, prior to an official, revised opening night of Feb. 5, moved from Feb. 4, to coincide with Grant's birthday that day.

In a press statement, co-producer Arlene Phillips commented of the casting, "I'm delighted that Russell Grant will be performing and dancing in Midnight Tango, with Vincent [Simone] and Flavia. Russell's partnership with Flavia is well known, but I too have had a dance partnership with Russell, which began with his appearance in the title role of The Wizard of Oz at the London Palladium, followed by playing Teen Angel in the current national tour of Grease, and I'm delighted we now have a third partnership."

Midnight Tango, directed by Karen Bruce, is set in a late-night bar in downtown Buenos Aires, which is owned by Carlos, who will be played by Grant. Simone and Cacace both star in and have choreographed the show. It is designed by Morgan Large, with lighting by James Whiteside.  The live music will be provided by tango band, Tango Siempre, featuring vocalist Miguel Angel.

The West End run will be followed by a nationwide tour, beginning performances at Eastbourne's Congress Theatre March 13.
