Ruthie Henshall Returns to London Chicago

News   Ruthie Henshall Returns to London Chicago Ruthie Henshall is back in Chicago at the Adelphi Theatre.

Henshall opened the long-running London production, with Ute Lemper, back in November 1997. Then, she played Roxie, with Lemper as Velma.

Henshall crossed the Atlantic to star as Velma in 1999, and is now playing Velma at the Adelphi. Linzi Hateley, who made her Broadway debut in Carrie, plays Roxie.

Chicago has proved to be a hit on screen (winning six Oscars this year) as well as on stage — it won the 1998 Olivier Award for Outstanding Musical Production — and relies on its choreography (by Ann Reinking in the style of Bob Fosse) as much as Kander and Ebb's music and lyrics.
