News Sacramento Circus To Awaken Brigadoon, Aug. 10-16 Lerner & Loewe, Rodgers & Hammerstein, Adler & Ross, Webber & Rice, Kander & Ebb, and George & Ira Gershwin -- those are the beloved teams whose music is being heard this summer season at Sacramento Light Opera Association's Music Circus. Now in its 48th year in its tent style arena theatre, SLOA opened its season July 13 (with Crazy For You) and runs to Aug. 30.

Lerner & Loewe, Rodgers & Hammerstein, Adler & Ross, Webber & Rice, Kander & Ebb, and George & Ira Gershwin -- those are the beloved teams whose music is being heard this summer season at Sacramento Light Opera Association's Music Circus. Now in its 48th year in its tent style arena theatre, SLOA opened its season July 13 (with Crazy For You) and runs to Aug. 30.

Here are other upcoming musicals:

* Brigadoon -- The Scottish town that awakens only once every hundred years. Lerner & Loewe's best-loved musical apart from their My Fair Lady, Brigadoon won the 1947 NY Critics Circle Award (plays Aug. 10-16).

Brigadoon tells of a pair of American travelers in Scotland who stumble upon a magical town that appears on Earth but one day each century. The score includes "Almost Like Being in Love," "Come To Me, Bend To Me," "The Heather on the Hill" and "From This Day On."

* Seven Brides For Seven Brothers -- Seven Oregonian brothers seek love & housekeeping in this musical based on the 1954 MGM film. (Aug. 17 23)

* South Pacific -- From Richard Rodgers & Oscar Hammerstein, the tale of plucky Nellie Forbush falling for a French expatriate. Songs include "There Is Nothing Like A Dame" and "Some Enchanted Evening." (Aug. 24-30)
