Just a little over a year after Manhattan Theatre Club debuted the play, Sacramento's B Street Theatre will stage David Lindsay-Abaire's comedy Fuddy Meers. The production, directed by Buck Busfield, runs Jan. 13 to Feb. 25, with an opening Jan. 14.
In Fuddy Meers, Claire, a wife and mother, wakes up every morning to discover she has forgotten everything she knows, leaving her husband to fill her in details of her identity and situation. A heroine with such a vulnerable Achilles heel can only fall into comic trouble, and Claire does when she's unwittingly kidnapped by a disfigured, limping man, a henchman who talks through a hand puppet, and a female cop.
After bowing at MTC in October 1999, Fuddy Meers transferred to a brief commercial run at the Minetta Lane Theatre.
Tickets are $15.50. The B Street is located at 2711 B Street. For more information, call (916) 443-5300.
