Original Off-Broadway star Jennifer Simard (The Thing About Men) stars with Darrin Baker, Anne Bobby and Daniel Tatar in the run at the California venue.
I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change features music by Jimmy Roberts with a book and lyrics by Joe DiPietro. The musical comedy that delves into the world of dating, love and marriage is also the longest-running musical revue in New York history, having broken the record set by Smokey Joe's Cafe.
Joel Bishoff directs the San Francisco run with a design team that includes Neil Jampolis (set/lighting), Pamela Scofield (costume) and Duncan Edwards (sound). Kim Douglas Steiner serves as musical director.
The show's creators presented their second Off-Broadway offering, The Thing About Men, last summer at Off-Broadway's Promenade Theatre with Marc Kudisch, Ron Bohmer, Leah Hocking, Daniel Reichard and Jennifer Simard starring. DiPietro is also the bookwriter for the upcoming Broadway musical All Shook Up, featuring the music of Elvis Presley, which is set to begin previews at the Marquis Theatre Feb. 20, 2005 and open March 24.
