News Sarah Ruhl's Spin on Eurydice Myth Comes to Yale Rep with Carrafa Choreography Sarah Ruhl's re-imagining of the classic myth Eurydice comes to Yale Repertory Theatre Sept. 22 in a production featuring choreography by John Carrafa.

Les Waters directs the work slated to open Sept. 28 for a run at the New Haven, CT, company's mainstage through Oct. 14.

From the pen of The Clean House comes this new take on "the classic myth of Orpheus and Eurydice through the eyes of its heroine as she journeys to the underworld and struggles to retain her memories of her lost love."

Tony Award-nominated Carrafa (Broadway's Urinetown, Into the Woods) returns as choreographer following his collaboration with Yale Rep on William Shakespeare's All's Well That Ends Well. Other credits include Good Vibrations (which he also directed), Dirty Blonde, Dance of the Vampires and Love! Valour! Compassion!

The cast of Eurydice includes Maria Dizzia (The Wooden Breeks) as Eurydice, Gian-Murray Gianino (Psyche) as Loud Stone, Carla Harting (Orson's Shadow) as Little Stone, Ramiz Monsef (Guantanamo: Honor Bound to Defend Freedom) as Big Stone, Joseph Parks (The Sweetest Swing in Baseball at Magic Theatre) as Orpheus, Charles Shaw Robinson (The Cradle Will Rock) as Eurydice's Father and Mark Zeisler (Brooklyn Boy) as Nasty Interesting Man/Lord of the Underworld.

The design team is comprised of Scott Bradley (scenic), Meg Neville (costume), Russell H. Champa (lighting) and Bray Poor (sound). Amy Boratko serves as dramaturg and James Mountcastle is the production stage manager. The 2006-07 Yale Rep season continues with Elizabeth Meriwether's The Mistakes Madeline Made (Oct. 27-Nov. 18), Keith Reddin's Black Snow (Dec. 1-23), Danai Gurira and Nikkole Salter's In the Continuum(Jan. 12-Feb. 10, 2007) and Frank Wedekind's Lulu (March 30-April 21, 2007).
