News Saturday Night Underground Variety Series to Kick Off Sept. 15 Theatre director Ben Rimalower and singer-songwriter Our Lady J will co-host Saturday Night Underground, a new variety show that will play select Saturday evenings at the Laurie Beechman Theatre through December.

The series, which will feature interviews and performances with a host of New York personalities, will kick off Sept. 15 at 11 PM. Those scheduled to be part of the inaugural three-hour evening include Justin Bond (Kiki and Herb), Natalie Joy Johnson (Legally Blonde), Ben Curtis (the "Dell Dude," who appeared in Off-Broadway's Joy), singer-songwriter Lance Horne and Creation Nation's Eli Bolin.

Upcoming Underground evenings are planned for Oct. 6, Nov. 10 and Dec. 1.

In New York Ben Rimalower has directed The Fabulous Life of a Size Zero; Joy; Snoopy!; And/or; Sodom the Musical; Look Ma, No Ears and staged readings for Second Stage, The York and EST. He also conceived and directed the award-winning Leslie Kritzer Is Patti LuPone at Les Mouches.

Our Lady J, aka Jonnah Speidel, has musical directed shows at Alice Tully Hall, Birdland, Carnegie Hall, Feinstein's at the Regency, Joe's Pub, Radio City Music Hall and Town Hall. Her one-woman show, Our Lady J & The Pink Champagne Orchestra, was a hit at the Ars Nova, Beechman and Zipper Factory. Speidel's other credits include Fame on 42nd Street and How To Save The World and Find True Love in 90 Minutes.

The Laurie Beechman Theatre is located within the West Bank Café at 407 West 42nd Street at Ninth Avenue. There is no cover charge.
