LOS ANGELES -- Bill and Savage, a new play by Michael Zittel, will have its world premiere at North Hollywood's AaahCappella Theatre Cafe Mar. 6 at 8 PM. It is scheduled to run through March 28.
In the play the two title characters, trapped in a vulgar political farce, soldier on anyway, believing that "bad art is better than no art."
As they delve into "sex, bestiality and Newt Gingrich," they are set upon by police clad in elephant and donkey heads who arrive to protect American family values, said a company spokesperson.
Zittel is directing. The cast includes Carl David and Frank Fimbres as Bill and Savage, and Barbara Fuller, Jimi Elwell, Michael Garvey, Mead LaFond, David Minijares and Scott Wulff.
The AaahCappella Theare Cafe is at 5907 Lankershim Blvd. in N. Hollywood's Noho Arts District. For information, call (626) 356-8056. -- By Willard Manus
