Scanavino and Cates Set for Rainbow Kiss Off-Broadway

News   Scanavino and Cates Set for Rainbow Kiss Off-Broadway Simon Farquhar's Rainbow Kiss will make its U.S. premiere at Off-Broadway's 59E59 Theaters beginning March 12 with an official opening scheduled for March 22.

In 2006, Rainbow Kiss premiered as part of London's Royal Court Theatre's 50th anniversary season. The American premiere – presented by The Play Company – is directed by Will Frears (The Water's Edge).

The cast for the limited engagement comprises Michael Cates (Blue Man Group), Robert Hogan (A Few Good Men), Charlotte Parry (Howard Katz) and Peter Scanavino (Shining City).

Set in Aberdeen, Scotland – Rainbow Kiss – according to production notes, "starts with a kiss and ends in blood. Keith, raising his infant son alone while holding down a dead-end job, stakes his future on a one-night stand with Shazza, an upwardly mobile beautician he meets at a club. She has a master plan and he doesn't belong. Yet she keeps coming back for more."

Creative duties are handled by Thomas Lynch (set design), Sarah Beers (costume design), Tyler Micoleau (lighting design) and Drew Levy (sound design).
