The show will be directed by APAC’s artistic director Dev Bondarin, choreographed by Misha Shields and with musical direction by Ming Aldrich-Gan. Performances will run April 30 through May 23 with an official opening night May 8.
In Merrily We Roll Along, the story of how a composer's idealism and friendships are corrupted by success is told backwards, starting with the disillusioned present and ending with his optimistic college years.
The cast will feature Alex Akin, Ally Bonino, Joe Bowen, LilyAnn Carlson, Joanna Carpenter, Christopher Darrin, Audrey Heffernan Meyer, Luke Hoback, Greg Horton, Kevin Ray Johnson, Jack Mosbacher, Jay Paranada, Nicholas Park, Jason Pintar, Rachel Rhodes-Devey, Anne Wechsler and Matt Welsh.
The production will feature scenic design by Andrea Nice, costume design by Jennifer Jacob and lighting design by Jesse Sheldon. Arielle Edwards is the sound designer, Katie White is the prop designer and Kat Meister is the production stage manager.
Merrily We Roll Along premiered on Broadway in 1981 at the Alvin Theatre where Sondheim was nominated for a Tony Award for Original Score.
