Jerry Seinfeld hopes to escape the unprecedented attention surrounding the final episode of his television series by taking his stand-up show to Australian theatres in June.

Seinfeld will take to the stages of the Capital Theatre in Sydney and the Regent Theatre in Melbourne. Both theatres have a seating capacity of approximately 2,000 and have been restored to their former glory in recent years.

Seinfeld is being brought to Australia by Dainty Consolidated Entertainment, who presented his show at the Fox Theatre during the Atlanta Olympics.

Promoted as a thank you to his Australian fans, the concerts will supposedly afford Seinfeld an opportunity to leave behind the media glare in the United States and also incorporate a holiday.

Jerry Seinfeld will perform two shows each night at the Regent Theatre, Melbourne, on June 5 and 6, and at Sydney's Capital Theatre on June 12 and 13. Bookings on (61-2) 92664800.
