CBS has bought the untitled multi-camera family sitcom, which is inspired by Adam Mansbach's bedtime book for parents, "Go the F**k To Sleep." O'Connell, Mansbach and Jeff Astrof will share credit on the potential series.
Astrof and Mansbach will co-write the script, which will center around a struggling writer who is thrown into the spotlight after his tongue-in-cheek children's book becomes an unexpected hit. CBS TV Studios and 3 Arts will produce.
O'Connell was last seen on CBS as Pete Kaczmarek in "The Defenders." His film and television credits also include "Sliders," "My Secret Identity," "Stand by Me," "Kangaroo Jack," "Crossing Jordan," "Scream 2" and "Jerry Maguire," among others.
