News Serenade's Larsen Performs at Union Square Holiday Market Dec. 7 Holiday shoppers at the Union Square Holiday Market will be treated to more music from Off-Broadway Dec. 7.

Anika Larsen will perform a song from the new musical Serenade, which features book and lyrics by Spelling Bee Tony winner Rachel Sheinkin and music by Nils Olaf Dolven. Paul Kreppel (My Mother's Italian, My Father's Jewish & I'm in Therapy!) hosts the weekly event at the 15th annual market. Performances take place at 4 PM in the midst of over 100 red-and -white booths offering holiday shoppers unique gifts and hand-made items. The holiday market officially kicked off Nov. 27 and has featured performances from Altar Boyz and The Fantasticks. Dec. 7 will also feature cast members from Enter Laughing and Make Me a Song; the performances will continue Dec. 14 (Celia; 500 Clowns; Make Me a Song; and I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change) and Dec. 21 (Naked Boys Singing, Jump, 500 Clowns and Wanda's World).

Larsen, recently seen in Broadway's Xanadu, stars alongside Joshua Henry in Serenade, which follows a "young silhouette maker on his odyssey of discovery after arriving in the big city. The musical journey propels him through all the adventures, struggles, and the first flush of love he experiences in this new and strange metropolis."
