August Wilson's Seven Guitars will close Sept. 8 after a five-month run.

Nominated for eight Tony Awards, Seven Guitars is the story of a Pittsburgh jazz musician struggling to get his band, his sweetheart and himself to Chicago where, he is convinced, wealth and fame await him. It's the latest in Wilson's cycle of plays about the lives of African-Americans, mainly in Pittsburgh, crossroads of the great South/North migration of American blacks, during the 20th century.

Directed by Lloyd Richards, the play was produced in Los Angeles, Chicago and Connecticut before opening on Broadway March 28. It won one Tony Award: Best Featured Actor in a Play to Ruben Santiago-Hudson. Wilson has won the Pulitzer Prize for drama twice, for Fences and The Piano Lesson.
