Described as a cross between "Waiting for Guffman" and "Beetlejuice," the 86-minute comedy concerns a "science teacher [who] says the word 'Macbeth' in a theatre and unleashes mayhem upon a troupe of actors." C.J. Prouty directed with cinematography by Michael Millikan.
The film, which was penned by Joe Tyler Gold, stars Broadway actors Linnea Liu Dakin (State Fair), Sam Zeller (Peter Pan) and Mark Deklin (The Lion King).
Special features on the DVD include audio commentary with the director and producers, deleted scenes and sword-fighting outtakes.
The "curse" of Macbeth affected the filmmakers of "Never Say Macbeth." According to a press statement, "Director C.J. Prouty suffered a terrible car accident on the way to the first production meeting; cinematographer Michael Millikan had his film equipment stolen out of a storage unit including equipment to be used in the shoot; and five minutes into color correction, Los Angeles suffered a city-wide power outage."
