News Showing Off, Drowsy Chaperone Launches Website March 21 Those connected to the internet are now able to lift up the curtain and take a peek at the new musical, The Drowsy Chaperone.

The Broadway show's website was launched March 21. Video clips, press coverage, character studies and more are on the site, at www.drowsychaperone.com. Previews for this rare original musical (no, it's not based on source material) begin at the Marquis Theatre April 3 toward an opening May 1.

What is The Drowsy Chaperone? According to the producers, "Fresh from its Los Angeles engagement, The Drowsy Chaperone lands on Broadway full of life, energy, laughter, singing, dancing, champagne, monkeys and Tony winner Sutton Foster — not necessarily in that order. If you've ever sat in a darkened theatre and thought, 'Dear Lord in heaven, please let it be good,' this is the show for you. To chase his blues away, a modern day musical theatre addict known simply as 'Man in Chair' drops the needle on his favorite LP — the 1928 musical comedy The Drowsy Chaperone. From the crackle of his hi-fi, the uproariously funny musical magically bursts to life on stage. Man in Chair's infectious love of The Drowsy Chaperone speaks to anyone who has ever been transported by the theatre."
