News   Sidd, New Musical Drawn From Hesse Novel, Opens Off-Broadway March 15 "Siddhartha," the philisophical novel by Herman Hesse, is the unlikely inspiration of Sidd, a new musical which will open at Dodger Stages on March 15, following previews from Feb. 23.

The show has music and lyrics by Doug Silver and direction, book and additional lyrics by Andrew Frank. Technically, it will the last show to open at Dodger Stages, the theatre complex which has changed hands and will switch its name to New World Stages on March 16.

The cast includes Manu Narayan in the title role, Marie-France Arcilla, Dann Fink, Natalie Cortez, Nicole Lewis, Arthur W. Marks and Gerry McIntyre.  The production features set design by Maruti Evans, lighting design by Chris Dallos, costume design by Michael Bevins and sound design by Andrew Bellware.

The story follows the travails of a young man as he journeys from his small hometown to the big city and eventually an encounter with Buddha. The production features an onstage band.
