The drama with music, which features a score by Howard Goodall and a book by Renata Allen, will begin performances March 13 at the U.K. venue with an official opening March 21. The limited engagement will play through April 22.
Directed by Russell Labey, the cast will feature David Burt (The Woman in White, Jesus Christ Superstar), Siobhan McCarthy (Evita, Mamma Mia!) and Aimie Atkinson (BBC Radio 2 Voice of Musical Theatre winner). Also in the company are Simon Thomas, Matt Cross, James Russell and Victoria Yeates.
The creative team also includes Kelvin Thomson (musical director), Tara Wilkinson (musical staging) and Mike Robertson (lighting design).
Set in the Spanish Civil War, Days of Hope, according to press notes, is described as "a touching human story of ordinary people caught in extraordinary circumstances, who find the dignity to survive when hope appears lost. On the eve of a flight to freedom from a country at war, Sofia and her family prepare for one last meal. Over the course of the evening, truths are exposed, loyalties tested and lives are changed... forever." Song titles include "Song of the Barricades," "Market Day," "Harvest," "Days of Hope" and "Democracy."
