"I'm actually from California, but I've spent the last eight years primarily on the East Coast," songwriter Contreras previously told Playbill.com. "I'm excited to go back, eat tons of In-N-Out, and then come up for some air and share my collection of music at the amazing Rockwell, alongside an incredible group of performers."
"Featuring songs from his first album, 'Love Me, Love Me Not,' audiences of all ages will be able to relate to the stories and adventures of Joey’s emotionally-driven and musically infectious tunes," according to press notes.
Contreras played sold-out New York City concerts at Rockwood in August and November 2013. His original compositions and arrangements have been featured in NYC venues including Joe's Pub, Lincoln Center, (le) Poisson Rouge, the Laurie Beechman Theater, The Duplex and multiple Broadway in South Africa galas at the Manhattan Center. Contreras, the recipient of the 2010 ASCAP Foundation Max Dreyfus Scholarship Award and the first Artist in Residence for the Broadway Dreams Foundation, also wrote the music and lyrics for the musical This Thing Called Love as well as his debut album "Love Me, Love Me Not: The Music of Joey Contreras."
